About Cam

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Grit and efficiency- I train hard so that when I am in gameplay, I relax and am able to strategize with grit and energy. I do not get down on myself or others; I am present and in the moment each play. I encourage teammates and work to build excellent communication with my coaches and teammates. I love this game and will do what it takes to get the job done on and off the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a problem-solver and love puzzles and struggles- they make me better on and off the court. I do not quit, and I am cool under pressure- I train hard so that on the court I can trust my decisions without over-analyzing during the game. I see strengths in others and I make sure I point those out- I am a positive person that looks for ways to add to a positive team culture.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am actively involved in theater, performing lead roles in musical and classical theater in and out of school. I am an active member of the Junior Classical League, through AP Latin III. I have received Academic Scholar awards for all A's and I have earned Magna cum Laude for the National Latin Exam. I am also an avid snow skier and equestrian rider.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have led groups in summer sessions for inner city youth as well as volunteered to teach refugee children living in NYC ESL. I have been named Team captain for school and club volleyball teams for several years.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I was born with 40% hearing loss and was premature. I have diagnosed LDs that made learning and making friends difficult in elementary school. However, I overcame the deficits through hard work and seeking out support- I developed an internal diligence and persistence to overcome obstacles that many of my peers shy away from. I even skipped a year in school. I'm an overcomer.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges that have strong nursing programs that support the volleyball athletic schedule.

Morris joined us from Killeen, north of Austin, where she represents Providence Prep at the high school level and works her craft with Rollers Volleyball Club . A lefty, she stood out among the setters for her accuracy and intelligent distribution. Her technique is really well-developed, and she uses her body strength very efficiently to push the ball to the pins. Morris was also among the most productive and well-rounded setters when it came to her back row game, which made a strong impression with her serving ability and her intelligent positioning, which allowed her to get many touches in the drills.
