SCSN Kickoff Weekend: Big Starts and Bigger Goals Ahead

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend marked the official kickoff of the Southern California and Southern Nevada club season with Mission of One Volleyball. One Community. The 16U and 18U tournament weekend took place December 6 and 7 and showcased athletes ready to compete, improve, and be seen.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I reached out to players who tagged me with their court schedules. Even though I cannot be on every court or at every tournament, our priority at PrepDig is exposure and making sure hardworking athletes have a platform. She kept her hitters in rhythm, adjusted tempos based on the front row, and stayed vocal to keep rallies organized. When she was opposite, she took aggressive swings in transition to help her team maintain pressure. She also felt confident in her defensive reads and her ability to stay steady when rallies got chaotic.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>“I want to reset faster, stay composed in pressure situations, and trust my decisions.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Maddie is focused on consistency in her mindset as sets get tight and competition intensifies. Off the court she balances school, club, and workouts while also running a photography business and helping younger athletes at clinics. Without a full practice together, this weekend became a chance to learn fast, lead with confidence, and compete with joy. She was proud of her energy, her serving momentum, and smart plays like a well-timed tip that led to a key point and a lot of laughter with teammates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>“We have a fountain of talent and I'm excited to see where we go this season.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Charlotte wants to improve her back-row reads, especially defending line swings, and is already seeking extra reps and coaching guidance. Off the court, she loves dancing with teammates and bringing energy to the group.
