New (To Us) Athletes In The Class Of ‘27 Rankings

It is quite impossible for only a handful of us to see the well over 1000 volleyball players that are uncommitted throughout the state of Indiana. That being said, when we DO see them play, they immediately get added to our rankings. Every approach, every jump, every swing from anywhere on the court is 100%. She can terminate from anywhere, has the shoulder flexibility to hit multiple angles from the same arm slot, and gets her feet to each and every attack, consistently scoring points for her squad. Want a passer? She can step in and receive serve. How about a defender? No problem, she can step in as a three-rotation defender any time in any position. Can she set? Sure! I haven't seen game play that has placed her as “better” in one position or not, as both suit her equally well, but in different ways. In the middle, she has a high attack point and hits a heavy ball, which is hard to slow down. On the right side, she's more defensive-minded, as she reads the attacker opposite her and lines up her block well. For this author, she's come out of nowhere and used her unreal athleticism to her advantage. There are multiple instances that I've seen—-both in person and on video—-where her speed and power has overwhelmed opponents. Her attack touch isn't published, but it HAS to be over 10', and her explosiveness to get there is off the charts. That number next to her name? Miss Wickes is a “control outside”—-my definition of the reliable, pass-first outside hitter that can put balls away when necessary and limits her errors when she can. The next level might have her as a DS or libero because of her passing acumen, but for now, her ability to attack keeps me coming back to see her progress. Add to the fact that she travels from Lafayette all the way to Rev to play, and you can instantly see the dedication and work ethic Reagan has.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
