We’re coming to a close on our tour of Indiana, and the south side of Indianapolis added along with Johnson County has a few prospects that need to be mentioned. Although only two high schools and two clubs are mentioned here, these are regular kids that should be noted in future lists, specifically as we get into next fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="85900" first="Faith" last="Burch"], 5-10, RS, Circle City 15 Purple (15-1), Roncalli High School

This boomer is on the opposite pin and five inches shorter than teammate [player_tooltip player_id="85896" first="Quinci" last="Thomas"], but jumps just as high and thumps just as hard. As a freshman, she averaged almost two kills a set on varsity, helping to lead the Rebels to a conference title in high school. Her explosiveness is just part of her game; she actually digs more balls than she puts away. I put her in the #1 spot here because of her explosiveness and athleticism over the other four.

Anna Supe, 5-8, OH/RS, Team Indiana Elite 15 (15-1), Roncalli High School

A six rotation OH by trade, she can play either pin despite her size. She consistently hits high and hard and her fire for herself and her teammates is infectious. I don’t see her as any more than a O2 at the next level, but it’s a hard sell to remove her; TIs 15-1s would be a much lesser team without her.

[player_tooltip player_id="85935" first="Emily" last="Eck"], 5-8, RS, Circle City 15 Black (15-2), Center Grove High School

One of the things I’ve been pretty consistent about writing reviews of prospects is mentioning bloodlines and the kid’s "volley dork" capacity. Miss Eck’s older sister just signed as a libero for Missouri Valley Conference member Indiana State and has just as much gym rat in her as her older sister. She’s grown a few inches in the last few years, so her ball control background will serve her well at the next level. As of this writing, she’s seen as a RS, but can play both pins if needed and will work hard to give you what you need.

[player_tooltip player_id="85938" first="Taryn" last="Kennedy"], 5-11, MB, Circle City 15 Black (15-2), Center Grove High School

As the only freshman on the varsity roster last fall that made it to the 4A semi-state, Taryn is a do-everything middle that can fill in on the right side if needed. Her length gets her pin to pin on defense, and her foot speed is increasing as the season progresses. As one of only eight returners for next year’s varsity, she’ll have a trial by fire approach to getting back in the gym with a truncated club season and summer training. I look forward to this development.

[player_tooltip player_id="85944" first="Julianna" last="Weems"], 5-9, MB, Circle City 15 White (15-3), Center Grove High School

A late addition to the sport of volleyball, she actually jumps higher than teammate Taryn. Although most of her movements are two-footed at the moment (she’s a converted basketball player), I’m liking her quick development in the sport. Her athleticism is completely evident in normal situations, and the volleyball IQ is building. I need to see more of Julianna to get a better scope of her abilities, but it shouldn’t be long before she hits a few more radars.
