Latest Winter Rankings Update: 2027 Outside Hitters

[player_tooltip player_id='442987' first='Kate' last='Kalczynski'], Mercy/Legacy</strong>: Kalczynski, an Ohio State commit, had a great fall, as she was the primary offensive weapon for the D1 state champs, Mercy. She's got the power game to battle with anyone, but also makes a lot of high-IQ plays while showing great strides as a defender as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2. [player_tooltip player_id='467901' first='Mallory' last='Wandel'], Rockford/MVA: </strong>Wandel led Rockford to a state semifinal appearance this fall while proving to be one of the most emphatic finishers in the state. Wandel has great drive and determination while adding new facets to her game each month. She is a Michigan State commit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>3. [player_tooltip player_id='462086' first='Mallory' last='Woiteshek'], Grand Haven/MVA: </strong>Another Michigan State commit, the 6'3” Woiteshek has all the intangibles to be great at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='442982' first='Grace' last='Goodyke'], GR Christian/FaR Out: </strong>A Dayton commit, Goodyke has been the primary weapon for GRC since she was a freshman. Teams have focused on her, yet she still continues to produce at a high level and isn't afraid to attack aggressive lines.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>5. [player_tooltip player_id='454371' first='Riley' last='Loehfelm'], FH Northern/FaR Out: </strong>A Villanova commit, Loehfelm is one of the most well-balanced players in the state. She's been able to take over a match with her athletic swing, but also makes a lot of high-level defensive plays that can turn a match around as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Others To Watch</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='470031' first='Avery' last='Kapeller'], OLSM/High Performance: </strong>Kapeller has kept improving on her finishing rate and showing more confidence as one of the top hitters in the class. A Georgetown commit, Kapeller has put in the work to be an elite talent.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='454352' first='Calli' last='LeFevre'], Marian/Legacy: </strong>LeFevre has had injuries keep her off the court for chunks of the last two years, but there is still a strong prospect there. Hopefully the injury bug can stay away and she can showcase that explosiveness and quickness she did as a freshman.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'], Flat Rock/Michigan Elite: </strong>Giroux had a great fall season, helping Flat Rock reach new heights as a program, finishing runner-up in Division 2. Giroux earned <a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/12/2025-d2-player-and-coach-of-the-year/">MVP honors in Division 2</a> from Prep Dig Michigan for her relentless play and ability to dominate for long stretches.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan'], South Lyon/High Performance: </strong>South Lyon had a breakout season as a top contender in D1 and Duncan's growth as a player was a big reason why. She's been able to showcase a wider range of shot speeds and attack angles while improving on her defensive consistency.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='831699' first='Ella' last='Wilcox'], Parma Western/Team Pineapple: </strong>Wilcox had a great fall for Parma Western, showing a lot of improvement in her attacks, defense, and serving.
