About Alexia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My style of play is competitive, fiery, but I also love to have fun. Volleyball is a game of momentum, and when my team has the momentum, I do everything I can to make sure we keep it on our side. When I am on the sideline, I love celebrating loudly with my teammates, especially getting extra hype on a stuff block or monster kill. I demand the ball, and every ball I get, my intention is to kill it

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality is calm under pressure, but also very bubbly. I love making new friends through volleyball and having fun with them on and off the court. I thrive under high-pressure situations. when the game is tight, or we are down by a lot, those are my favorite moments to play in.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Beta Club at my school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

my leadership is a big part of who I am as a player. as a leader, it is important to recognize how others are feeling around you. sometimes, that can mean getting super excited for a big play they just made, and other times, it can just be instilling confidence in them, or giving them a hand squeeze to calm them down. a big chal

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A big challenge I faced was taking 3 months off my freshman year because of a shoulder injury. I would say this taught me to slow down and really appreciate when I am on the court to not take it for granted. it is a blessing to be playing this sport, and my injury helped showed me that being grateful for every moment of playing time is so important.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will allow me to strive in my studies, and go down a good career path. Volleyball wise, I am looking for a competitive program: everyone on the same page and setting goals that are achievable and will make us better as a team.
