About Janie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a left-handed RS and a versatile player with OH and RS experience, as well as serving. My attention is always on the next point and never on the previous, having a good mindset is key. I put my body on the line for my position, diving for tips and hits that would be out of reach for some. I am resilient enough to handle the stress of the game, as well as practices and lifts.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have an overall positive mentality, along with a competitive attitude.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am a part of the 18-1 SWMNVB club volleyball team in the winter as well as summer, I am an avid member of my school’s student council as we as a member of the National Honors Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

On my school team as an upcoming 3-year varsity athlete, I believe that everyone has an important roll on the team. Given if your roll is a pin hitter or the one who hypes up the bench. Again, I am in Student Council and National Honors Society.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my past two school volleyball seasons, my team and I have struggled with our confidence in falling short of a win or feeling like we can’t compete. I have played a major role in keeping up our team morale and encouraging giving our 100% performance every time.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a welcoming campus and a highly competitive volleyball team with supportive and constructive coaches and staff.
