Slack is coming off a strong year with Milan as a setter-hitter combo. Her size makes her a threat in a variety of ways, and she has the footwork and athleticism to confuse defense. Lewis is a steady setting option as well, who is eager to showcase all she can bring the table.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Well-Balanced Outsides</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>L2 has some talented outsides that can also really contribute defensively. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='727732' first='Larkin' last='Pham'] </strong>had a great fall for Dexter and is playing with plenty of confidence in all phases of the game. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='835566' first='Makayla' last='Evansen'] </strong>is making the trip for Portland, looking to challenge herself while showing she has the skills to hang with a high level of talent.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='806793' first='Mina' last='Reichert'] </strong>is a smooth outside that has the footwork and agility to come through in the clutch on offense or defense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Potent Middles</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>To complete the offense attack, L2 is working with some explosive middles in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='537168' first='Gabriella' last='Ferrera']</strong> and <strong>Brynlei Gunn</strong>. Ferrera has 6-foot height and brings some added aggression to the court. Gunn can dial up the power at the net, but is also a difference-making blocker. She is relentless in her blocking effort and slows down a lot of attacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Defensive Anchors</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The defense will be a big key for this team behind <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='586763' first='Amilia' last='Ashcroft'] </strong>and <strong>Jocelyn Wall</strong>. Both have a lot of determination that they play with. Ashcroft anticipates well and shows a good first step in getting to the ball. Wall is able to keep herself low to the ground and play with clean form.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Expectations</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>L2 took some lumps in the Windy City Qualifier and Ohio Valley Qualifier, but looked like an improved group in the Nike North Coast Cup. Their only losses came to the top two teams and they had a pair of sets lost by four points or less. This is a team that is going to look to mix it up with top teams in the Midwest and show that they have the skills to play at the next level. You won't be able to question the heart and drive of this group.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
