About Taniyah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my style as scrappy but knowing where to put the ball whether that’s a hit, tip, swipe, or push. Staying aggressive and big at the net. Always coming in with energy.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to always know where i’m strong at and where I fall short. Always playing with a “never let the ball drop” and hustle mindset, while having a personality full of energy but commitment and determination. To stay consistent and focus on fixing past mistakes.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the SCA and SALT program at Heritage High School. I have received senior of the month in February 2026.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed focusing on next point and plays but learning from those last plays, regardless if it’s on and off the court. Developing personal growth such as patience, kindness and resilience. While learning this I take it to people around me no matter the age and teach them that they can be leaders and strong individuals with a positive mindset.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have challenges such as constantly staying in my head during bad plays which would lead me to be quiet and distance with not only my teammates but my coach as well. I would sit with my thoughts wondering what am i doing wrong but also knowing that I am better than this.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will continue to uplift me while showing tough love. Knowing that they see potential in me on and off the court. Helping me see more of my weaknesses regardless if it’s small or not. Overall, a good environment and pushes everyone to determination and commitment.
