Five Players Who Were Rockin’ Out In Nashville

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Had a chance this past weekend to watch some volleyball in Nashville/Franklin TN. There were some good teams and players that I saw in the 15 and 16 year old divisions. I want to give a shout out to one team in particular, Azone Volleyball Club who were from Arizona. I met the coach who seemed to be doing a wonderful job with the squad. The team always seemed to be in the right spot, trusted each other and listened intently to their coach. They hustled for every point! Their serve receive was great, served and hit their zones, and covered well for each other on defense. The Nashville Super Regional AAU tournament had some good talent from all over the United States! Great reach, great vertical, can hit straight down on you on the 5 ft line, forget the 10 foot line. Changes a ton of hits at the net with her presence. I saw her get a few blocks and change a bunch of hitters minds before they swung, she jumps so high. If this is the 1st time hearing about Zelaya, it will not be the last. She's going to keep getting better and that's scary. Really good zone serving and serves. Played OH and was doing a little bit of everything for her squad. Gave nice hits and kills from that OH position, delivering cross court hits and some crafty play as well. She can hit with power and also hit smart. Did the little things too, like playing good D, getting touches on D at the net. I'm not sure i saw any missed sets from her. She delivered the ball on the spot to her hitters whether it was outside hitter, MB, or RS. She always seemed to be calm and collected not rattled. Had really soft hands and could set with pace. Controlled the game really well. She did a great job in serve receive, don't believe she missed anything back there. Stayed calm on passes and digs and made it tough for opposing teams to score. Can tell she is a gamer too, wants to win and perform well. Moved under control always seemed to be in the right place. She got a couple of great kills in that OH role. She got kills off of hard hit balls and smart tips and roll shots at the net. She played confidently and helped beat a tough team with a tough big middle blocker on the front line. She did her part on Defense as well getting touches at the net. Lockhart has a good laser serve as well!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cool tournament that was held so close to Nashville. Kids and parents got to enjoy the surrounding fun and atmosphere that Tennessee offers. There were some really good teams at the tournament and lots of good volleyball was viewed. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
