The returning top two teams in the Crossroads conference, BDS and Cross County, return some heralded players that they will rely on to make it to state in 2020. The Cross County duo of 2019 first-team all-conference players Courtlyn Schaefer and Erica Stratman Erica Stratman 6'1" | MB Cross County | 2021 State NE will look to replace their setter and libero and have players ready to step into those roles. The 2019 Class D2 Champions BDS return their all-state hitter in Macy Kamler Macy Kamler 5'9" | OH BDS | 2021 State NE and look to Mariah Sliva Mariah Sliva 5'7" BDS | NE to be another threat in 2020.
The competition level of the remaining teams in the Crossroads will depend on young players becoming the upperclassmen and taking on those leadership roles. 2019 state qualifier Giltner graduated most of their team. Meridian graduates an all-stater but returns a core group in Kaylee Pribyl, Ally Kort, and Brynn Holtmeier. Look to Exeter-Milligan to make a run after only graduating two and returning a solid group of players.
