New Paris Crush Volleyball Club Overview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For smaller schools looking to get in repetitions outside of the high school season, this could be a good way to make it happen. Smaller schools often see students play multiple sports. Paris Crush Director John Mason said he designed this club with that in mind, especially for Paris students where his daughters attend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club has three teams in 17U, 14U and 11U this year. Mason's daughters play on the 17U team, whose head coach is Lindsey Thompson. The team just won the High School Red Division in The Spike Tournament in Georgetown.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='603211' first='Molly' last='Mason'] is a junior at Paris and her younger sister [player_tooltip player_id='850571' first='Mia' last='Mason'] is a freshman. Coach Mason noted they both play basketball, soccer and have recently joined the softball team. They both also play Amateur Athletic Union basketball so this club has helped them and a number of their teammates by scheduling around the other sports. Both set for the Paris Crush, but [player_tooltip player_id='603211' first='Molly' last='Mason'] also plays outside hitter in a 6-2 formation and is a six-rotation player. [player_tooltip player_id='850571' first='Mia' last='Mason'] is the 17U teams tallest player.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another pair of Paris sisters plays on the team as middle blockers in freshman [player_tooltip player_id='960868' first='Aniya' last='Hayden'] and eighth grader [player_tooltip player_id='960873' first='Rose' last='Hayden']. [player_tooltip player_id='960868' first='Aniya' last='Hayden'] played defensive specialist during the high school season, but moved to middle blocker to fulfill a need for this club.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Paris junior [player_tooltip player_id='960865' first='Angie' last='Roque-Romero'] is the team's libero with Paris freshman [player_tooltip player_id='960871' first='Emma' last='Morris'] and Harrison County junior Brooklynn Sowder also playing defensive specialist. Bourbon County junior Kaleaa Leverett plays outside hitter with Harrison County junior Jaicee Hamilton and Paris freshman Lily Wilson playing the right side. Mason can do a variety of sets including back sets. Mason also does a good job running an efficient offense. She is not afraid to put balls over on second touches. Mason makes good first touches and has sound technique on her solo and double blocks. She made a kick save in a recent game. Mason is working on various hitting angles. Mason takes quality swings in the middle and the outside. Hayden has nice range. Hayden is not afraid to lunge when needed for big saves. Hayden sends across nice serves, but does need some work on her accuracy with them. Hayden mixes in good off shots for 17U adding another dimension to the offense. She can handle a number of tough swings including crosses. She steps toward balls then stops to make those crisp passes.
