Big South 17s: Middles Elevating Tempo and Closing the Net

As play deepens at Big South, the role of the middle blocker becomes even more critical in controlling pace and limiting opposing offenses. At the 17s level, middles are expected to transition quickly, establish early positioning, and be available as a consistent offensive option. The athletes in this group stood out for their ability to stay active, read the game, and contribute across both phases of play.    Tia'Renea shows strong awareness at the net and does a good job maintaining disciplined positioning. She works laterally and contributes to closing seams effectively. Her presence helps stabilize the front row defensively. Tia'Renea contributes to overall net control. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Jayda brings strong energy and does a good job staying active through extended rallies. She works to move efficiently along the net and contribute to blocking coverage. Her willingness to stay engaged in transition adds offensive value. Jayda is developing strong consistency in her role. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Ayele shows strong engagement and does a good job maintaining positioning along the net. She tracks the play well and contributes consistently in blocking situations. Her effort in transition helps her stay available as an offensive option. Ayele supports both defensive and offensive flow. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Gaelle brings a strong physical presence and does a good job establishing position at the net. She works laterally with purpose and stays disciplined in closing seams. Her ability to stay active across rallies helps reinforce the block. Gaelle contributes to front-row control. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga     Taylor shows strong activity at the net and does a good job staying engaged throughout blocking sequences. She works to track the setter and establish early hand positioning, helping to close space effectively. Her transition timing allows her to stay available offensively.
