She shows good body control when setting in and out of system. Smith is beginning to show growth in her decision-making, recognizing opportunities to move the ball around and keep defenses guessing. Defensively, she competes and stays engaged in hard transitions. As she continues to develop her tempo and confidence as a leader, her impact as a setter will continue to rise. Her volleyball IQ is top notch.&nbsp; Her approach is consistent, allowing her to stay effective even in out-of-system situations. In serve receive, she contributes with effort and continues to build consistency. Gauerke competes hard and embraces key moments, which adds to her value on the court.
