About Carson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to keep things tactical on the court. My game is built on being precise and efficient, but I'm also really adaptable. Whatever the match looks like, I’m ready to shift gears and handle it.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm big on honesty and empathy. My goal is pretty simple: stay sharp and accurate on the work side, but always keep things kind and collaborative with the team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Growing up, I was pretty involved in music, playing both the piano and French horn. It was a great outlet for me, and I actually ended up picking up a few awards for it along the way. On the academic side, I’ve managed to stay on the honor roll for several semesters, so I’m used to balancing a busy schedule with my school, and sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Most of my growth has come from serving at my church. My time with the OMP Mission Project over the summers really stands out—it taught me how to lead a team effectively and gave me a much deeper appreciation for hard work and community service.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have managed periods of significant anxiety, and depression, which initially affected my overall well-being. However, by developing mindfulness techniques, I made this challenge benefit me by teaching me how to practice being mentally strong, which helps me on and off the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m definitely after that D1 experience—big sports, great atmosphere, and a solid community. Career-wise, I’m focused on nursing with the goal of eventually specializing in anesthesia, so a school with strong medical program is key. I want a program that balances that drive with a great athletic department and coaches who know how to push you the right way.
