About Suzie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am quick, smart, knowing where my bail balls are but also where on the court to place the ball. I am determined, aggressive and competitive, always giving my all. I focus on reading hitters, closing blocks, and being a strong presence at the net. Offensively, I like running fast-tempo plays and staying available for quick sets. I bring energy, communication, and hustle to every play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the volleyball court is focused, competitive, and team-first. I stay positive under pressure and always try to bring energy and encouragement to my teammates. As a middle, I know communication and hustle are important, so I work hard every play and stay mentally locked in even during tough moments. My personality on the court is energetic, supportive, and determined.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Spanish Honors Society for highschool

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned a sense of intelligence, I have learnt that the game of volleyball is always going whether I am mentally in it or not so adapting to that and noticing each match I play the different spots to place the ball has definitely been a big skill I’ve developed. As well as teamwork since no one can do anything in this sport without a team but also friendship.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have not this season, but faced a severely sprained ankle last year however I recovered quite quickly and returned back to the season after a month.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to go to college in California specially, I want to find a college that fits my needs but also is somewhere I can continue to grow and learn but also be pushed to be the best version of myself as a student but also as an athlete.
