They were passing tough serves, digging balls in transition, taking on six-rotation responsibilities, and still finding ways to score when their teams needed points.

What I enjoyed most was how complete their games looked. These athletes were involved from the first contact to the final swing, making an impact in ways that don't always show up in the box score. The ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game is becoming more valuable every year, and this group showed exactly why.

The following players caught my attention because they never seemed far from the action. Whether they were helping stabilize serve receive, extending rallies defensively, or terminating balls in key moments, they consistently found ways to influence the outcome of matches.

[player_tooltip player_id='987629' first='Ryan' last='Connolly'] was one of those players that seemed to pop up in every phase of the game. One rally she was handling a difficult serve receive, and the next she was finding a way to score in transition. The longer I watched her, the more I appreciated how complete her game looked. She never seemed far from the action and consistently gave her team quality touches. In an event loaded with talent, Ryan stood out because of how much she contributed beyond the stat sheet. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Every time [player_tooltip player_id='819376' first='Stella' last='Scharf'] rotated into the front row, it felt like something was about to happen. She played with an aggressive mindset and never looked hesitant taking big swings, but what impressed me most was everything that happened between those attacks. Stella worked hard to stay connected to the play, transitioned quickly, and remained involved long after the first contact. Some pins can score points. Stella found ways to influence entire rallies. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

The longer I watched Elle Starman, the more complete her game looked. She was just as comfortable handling serve receive responsibilities as she was attacking in transition. There was never a sense that she was trying to force her way into the match. Instead, she simply kept making good volleyball plays. By the end of the weekend, what stood out most was how often she was involved when her team needed a quality touch. Those athletes tend to be incredibly valuable at the next level. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='951504' first='Anna' last='Rowling'] brought a physical presence to the court that immediately grabbed attention. What kept me watching, though, was how hard she competed between contacts. She wasn't waiting around for the perfect set or the perfect opportunity. She was working to create them. Whether it was helping extend rallies defensively, staying available in transition, or putting pressure on blockers, Anna consistently found ways to make herself a factor. That mindset is difficult to teach. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Aubree King was one of those players whose value became more obvious the longer I stayed on her court. She handled first-contact responsibilities, competed defensively, and still managed to be an offensive option when points became critical. There was a steadiness to her game that coaches appreciate. No wasted movement. No forcing plays. Just an athlete who continually put herself in the right position to help her team succeed. By the end of the event, it was easy to see why she remained one of the more reliable all-around pins in the gym. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

In Case You Missed It
