--

It's the hottest date of the year for the rising Juniors across the country. June 15th has been marked on the calendar and it's one of the busiest days of the year for prospective 2028s.

Since it's inception, there has never been a shortage of excitement, celebration and conversation around this date. We're seeing the formation of the future of our sport. This year will be another insanely exciting class to track down who goes where and who snags who. The race between the powers in the NCAA is the tightest its ever been.

We could talk about this on a national scale, but we're going to look at one of the biggest pools of athletes in the 2028 class that'll be making some noise. And that is the Michigan kids. This a growing hot bed of talent that has been slowly but surely taking over the club scene as well as the college game.

Next on the list, we have to take a look at these outside hitters! This is stacked class at the pins and so much to talk about so buckle in and let's talke about these prospects.

Top of the List

[player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson'] - Marian/Legacy

Of the pin attackers in this class, [player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Quinn' last='Nelson'] may be one of the very first to claim her spot. The 6'0 outside hitter has surely cemented herself as one of the top in her class. With her overall game, Nelson has all of the makings to be a great OH2 at the next level. Her ball control is spot on and she has such great vision for the opposing defense to score in transition. She's been a key factor to success in both her high school and club teams, she led Marian in kills this past fall and helped lead Legacy to a top ten 15 Open finish last year at USAVs.

Nelson has had some serious attention in these past few weeks camping at some of the top programs in the country. She has been everywhere from Ohio State to Duke and UNC, and Tennessee and Auburn. It looks to be the south is her destination of choice and any of those schools would be lucky to have her.

[player_tooltip player_id='881556' first='Stella' last='Polavin'] - Forest Hills Northern/MVA

I am sure of this pick, [player_tooltip player_id='881556' first='Stella' last='Polavin'] will be a dandy pick up. Another one that has really come into her own in this Sophomore year, Polavin has been nothing but elevating her game from September to now. At 6'1, she brings a long wingspan that offers up a lot of potential to be a terminating attacker in the college game. She was one of the main point producers in the fall with Forest Hills Northern and fast forward to now, she is the go to for MVA's 161 team.

Polavin has been a little quiet on the camp front, but given the insight on some of her club teammates, I have a feeling she's been camping around some really strong programs. I could see Polavin really finding her stride in a conference like the Big East where her high school teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='454371' first='Riley' last='Loehfelm'] will be with Villanova.

[player_tooltip player_id='732306' first='Reese' last='Williams'] - Roscommon/Mid-Mich Aces

It's not too often when you find players from this northern part of the lower peninsula, but there's been a new wave of athletes that are looking to change that. [player_tooltip player_id='732306' first='Reese' last='Williams'] enters the chat and she could be one of the biggest names that the area has ever seen. While she has seen nothing but success at the high school level, leading Roscommon to unprecedented heights, she's been crushing it in the club scene. At 5'10, Williams elevates really well and offers up a lot of strong angles in repertoire

Despite her small club home though, Williams has been snagging eyes from some exciting programs. Williams has been seen camping at Michigan State, Ohio and Western Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] - Cass City/Michigan Elite

Another player that could really turn into one of the biggest dark horses in the class, [player_tooltip player_id='569773' first='Skylar' last='Ignash'] comes into the convo. This is a kid who has only been in her position for nine months at this point. When you consider her relative raw nature and the fact that she is touching 10'3 without any strength and conditioning, Ignash's potential is through the roof. She's really been hitting a stride in the recent weeks leading up to nationals as her duties as triple sport athlete has died down and her full focus has been on the volleyball court.

This athleticism is simply something you cannot pass up! And I think a lot of college programs are making note of that, Ignash has been camping at some elite places including Duke, Dayton, Indiana and Butler to name a few. Ignash is a player that you can say is JUST getting started. It'll be the programs that slept on her that will pay the price down the road.

[player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon'] - Stoney Creek/Legacy

Now, many may get to this section and think, "Hey, wrong position, [player_tooltip player_id='569772' first='Lauren' last='Sheldon'] is a middle". Well, take a look further and we have maybe one of the top pin prospects in the country. While Sheldon can completely dominate at the net as a middle blocker, it seems to be that her future is firmly cemented on the pins. Not only does Sheldon rock the position well in high school, but at every camp she has been to in these last few weeks, she has been attending as an outside. A move that maybe only increases her stock further.

Word on the street is that Sheldon is one of the most well-traveled prospects in the country . On her tour to find the right fit, Sheldon has made stops at many of the Power 4s including Indiana, MSU and North Carolina.

Don't Sleep on 'Em

[player_tooltip player_id='834257' first='Kiley' last='Manyen'] - Rockford/FaR Out

[player_tooltip player_id='834257' first='Kiley' last='Manyen'] is only going up and you don't want to miss out. This is a west side product that could really make some noise at the next level in a variety of ways. With her ball control and shot selection, I could see her excelling as an OH2, DS/L or even rocking it out on the beach. Manyen was a part of the nationally ranked Rockford team this fall and her role is only going to expand further in the fall without the dynamic duo of Liv Hosford and [player_tooltip player_id='467901' first='Mallory' last='Wandel'].

[player_tooltip player_id='809569' first='Cambree' last='Krause'] - Forest Hills Central/FaR Out

Another west sider, [player_tooltip player_id='809569' first='Cambree' last='Krause'] is very similar to her club teammate, Manyen. May she be on the smaller side, Krause offers a lot of range in her attack as well as a steadiness in her back row play. She, too, could provide that versatility on the court. These are two players you cannot overlook.
