Recruiting 2022: Camden Conference

With perennial power Minneota representing this conference very well at the state tournament level, talent among all programs in the Camden conference should not be overlooked. Here is a collection of 2022 athletes that college coaches should become familiar with if not already. All have potential to contribute at the next level among the region’s top DII and DIII programs.

[player_tooltip player_id="72787" first="Abby" last="Frie"] - 6’0 | MH/RS | MInneota
Earning all-conference recognition in 2019, Frie provides good size and range of offense from the middle for this team. She uses her length well on both sides of the ball as she can get above the tape well. Offensively, she makes herself available often and can terminate well in front on a quick attack and overhead through a slide option. On the defensive side she prepares well with good balance and engages her footwork and arm swinging motion to get up and over on opposing attackers quickly. She is definitely an athlete to keep an eye on as she will continue to become even more effective with increased strength and foot speed.

Gabby Harding - 5’10 | OH | Canby
Harding has a nice arm on the left pin and can generate good power when she gets her feet to the ball. She gets her elbow back well in the air, which opens her up to the set and creates good torque opportunities. She also has good arm control to swing strategically at the block or to send over a well place off speed attempt. She will once again be a critical part of the Canby offense this fall as they look to challenge for a top position in the conference and a deep run in the postseason. They fell just short of the section finals dropping their final match to eventual state champion Minneota.

[player_tooltip player_id="72839" first="Hannah" last="Pharr"] - 6’1 | MH | Renville County West
Pharr has great stock rising potential. She is an athletic and very active middle for RCW that can score points in a variety of ways. She is effective off one or two feet in front and behind the setter, which makes her tough to track and defend. She works hard to identify the ball coming across the net to help with her transition and understanding what options become available. With good spacing and timing she can control her arm well to swing with good range of the opponents court. She has great potential and should continue to be the primary factor in RCW’s offense this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="72762" first="Natalee" last="Rolbiecki"] - 5’9 | MB/OH | Minneota
The current leader of this Minneota program, Rolbiecki is a true veteran as she continues to build upon her several years of varsity experience. She garners a lot of attention given her work ethic and versatile skill set that is effective and efficient, which earned her 1st team all-state recognition in 2019. Her play on both sides of the ball is technical and low-error, which certainly helps to elevate the play of those around her. She will undoubtedly have this team at the forefront of state tournament conversation once again as they look to earn their third title in a row.

[player_tooltip player_id="72811" first="McKenna" last="Yost"] - 5’8 | S | Minneota
Yost is the floor leader for this team and brings such a great style of play and engagement to the court that is simple and keeps their offense moving. She is very efficient in her pursuit of the second touch and involves the collection of her attackers with good distribution balance. She does not overplay any opportunity and is the type of setter that just does her job to get her attackers in the best position possible to be successful. The 2019 state tournament all-star selection should have this offense rolling once again in 2020.
