About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a outside, but also a strong aggressive and consistent backrow player in serve recieve, defense, and covering my front row players. In hitting, I am an aggressive, smart, controlled, and court-seeing player. I bring energy and enthusiasm to the court to motivate both my teammates and I.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the court, mentally as an outside I have a "put the ball down" mindset on every set I get. After a mistake, I just know what to do better for the next time, and brush it off. My personality on the court is energetic, supportive, and passionate for the game.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing volleyball for almost 8 years now has taught me many things. Developing as a player physically is what everyone can do, but developing into a mentally strong player along the way, is what many struggle with, that I found out how to do. Volleyball taught me how important leadership, teamwork, and acts of service are, not just on the court, but in everyday life socially.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My biggest challenge as a player, was before I grew. I was 5'5 before I became 5'10 and many coaches told me that I was not meant to be a hitter. I used it as motivation to train my verticle, perfect my form, also work on back row, but never give up on hitting, as I was so passionate for it.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a higher level college division that will not only use me as a player, but develop me into the best player I can be both physically and mentally. I am looking for a college who enhances the passion I have for the sport, and even helps me grow it!
