The USA Volleyball Junior National Club Championship brings together the best club programs in the country under one roof in Indianapolis, and Prep Dig will be on the floor to scout the field from the very start. As part of the pre-tournament showcase on June 24th at the Indiana Convention Center, several Prep Dig state-ranked prospects and those who are currently unranked but also very intriguing prospects to be from across the country will step onto the court before the main event begins. College coaches looking to get an early read on the next wave of talent would do well to circle the following names before the tournament tipping schedule fills their notebooks. Let's take a look at a few of the names who will be in attendance.

Miss Smith is developing inside one of the more competitive volleyball districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, an area that consistently produces nationally ranked talent across every position. By playing against that talent in both high school and club, it will sharpen her skills so much. If there is anything that I know about watching this talent pool over the last 25 years, it is that iron truly does sharpen iron. Watching how she reads a block she has not seen before and how she adjusts her approach angle against unfamiliar defenders will tell evaluators a great deal about her readiness to handle top competition. I have seen her before as she came to one of our exposure tours last year and she put on a great show. She also has tons of highlight reels online to help scouts keep track of her game. Gianna has a very strong upper body that generates lots of power in her attack. We are happy to see her again at nationals.

Minnie plays the libero position like coaches truly love, with passion. Her path to standing out is built entirely on read-and-react speed, platform discipline, and the kind of relentless floor coverage that allows a defense to function at a high level regardless of who is attacking. The showcase setting is where those instincts are tested most directly, since unfamiliar hitters and unpredictable tempo expose any gaps in a libero's anticipation. Watch how quickly she identifies a swing path and how clean her first-contact platform looks under pressure. I follow her on instagram and love the skills videos she posts regularly. You can really see clean and fast footwork as she pursues the ball all across the court. She also creates some great angles with her platform that rebound the ball perfectly to her setter. I am very intrigued to watch her at the showcase.

Miss Rice has already logged varsity reps as a freshman, which is one of the clearest early signals a coaching staff can give about a player's readiness relative to her age group. At 5'10", she carries genuine length at the middle blocker position with three more seasons of physical development still ahead of her. The attributes to track in Indianapolis are her closing speed and angle at the block, how quickly her footwork transitions from defense to attack, and whether her swing shows efficient mechanics or is still catching up to her frame. A freshman already trusted at the varsity level is a strong indicator of a player whose ceiling is worth tracking early. Our scouts will be putting her to the test against top competition in both the position specific drills and the scrimmage portion. Stay tuned as we report on her play.
