About Abigail

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to play aggressively, but smart. It is fun to swing hard, but it is better to get the kill and if that means I need to roll the ball or swipe it to the appropriate open floor location, then that is what I will do. We play as a team. Whether I'm on the court or off the court, my job is to be the best player, teammate, and person I can be.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm bubbly and cheerful and like to tell jokes when I am off the court. When I am on the court, that is business time. It is effort and work to win and create a winning culture and I expect that from myself and my teammates. We may lose, but we will work together and work hard in order to succeed to the best of our abilities.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a Davidson Scholar. I have won weightlifting competitions (including the American Open and National titles). I am involved in Livermore Area Artists Association. I perform with the Temple Hill Symphony Orchestra as a soprano.

Abigail competed at the NCVA Power League Qualifiers in Sacramento and approached the weekend with a growth mindset, focusing on swinging aggressively, reading blockers more effectively, and improving shot placement. She identified her front-row attacking as a key way she helps her team compete, while also embracing her role as a captain by prioritizing communication, emotional control, and creating space for teammates to learn and make mistakes. New to the outside hitter position after two years as a middle, Abigail is intentionally working on serve receive, defensive reads, and technical elements of her attacking mechanics to improve consistency and reduce injury risk. Off the court, she balances volleyball with qualifying for USA Track and Field Regionals, participating in a juried art show, and conducting marine research on tidepools and salinity.
