Hermanson preps at Cedar Rapids Kennedy and has been a key player for Adrenaline 17 Brooke where they have a 17 American bid to USAV Nationals, claiming it at the Northern Lights Qualifier. Hermanson isn’t afraid to take a big swing from the outside, but she is also able to use a roll shot and take advantage of the block. This 17 Brooke team out of Cedar Rapids has some really strong 2025s who would be ones to take a look at for the next level.

Hermanson has steadily improved since the end of the last club season. That stretch includes missing much of her prep season with an injury. Hermanson is healthy now and showing impressive versatility with each passing competition. Her ability to play multiple positions should be opening more doors in her recruitment. She could play pin in some programs and hold it down in the back row for others.

I first noticed Hermanson’s game early in the prep season. She was slowed by injuries as a junior, which didn’t help her recruitment. Adrenaline loaded up its top 17s team this season, pushing her down to the second team. Those are the factors holding her back. It’s certainly not her play. She’s a consistent, six-rotation performer that may lack a standout skill but does everything well. She’s sound serving, hitting and in serve-receive. A college would be lucky to have her, especially knowing there’s potential for a lot more development here.

I scouted Hermanson for a pair of early-season matches. She impressed me with her versatility and feel for the game. Unfortunately, she’s been sidelined with an injury for a big chunk of the season. When healthy, she succeeds because of her athleticism, timing and strong swing. Her quick reactions help her in defending the back row or in rising above the net. Her long arms help her play taller.
