About Addison

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe myself as someone who plays with grit and integrity. I look at my mistakes, and think about what I can do to prevent the mistake from happening again.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I tend to get in my head, but my teammates are always those who reassure me. When they get in their head, I reassure them too. I view losses as a chance to learn, and become better as a team. It highlights aspects of the game that we need to work on. When playing teams, I prefer a challenge. I would rather play a team that would push us to play our best over a team that we are level with.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently ranked in the top ten of my graduating class, which is about 70 kids. I help my mom out at her job on days that I am off of school, and look forward to my part-time internship over the summer.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think that I’ve learned that teamwork is an incredible part of volleyball. Not only does your attitude effect how you play, but it also effects the mood of your teammates. Having a positive attitude is one thing that you, and only you, can control.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my 15s season, I was cut from the team I thought I had a 100% chance of making. I had no other club tryouts except for one. I went and tried out there, and the club offered me a practice player position. I took that year as an opportunity to grow as much as I could and practice hard. Here I am now, on the top 16s team with so many opportunities.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can take classes to fulfill my dreams of specializing in the sports medicine field. I would also look for a college that focuses on their students successes and futures. One that has a welcoming atmosphere.
