Addison gives Bremen another option through her ability to play right side and middle. Those positions share front-row responsibilities but require different movement patterns and blocking decisions. Being able to move between them gives a coach more flexibility in matching up against an opponent’s attacking strengths.

The important part of Addison’s development is how efficiently she transitions between those responsibilities. At right side, she must be ready to block the opposing outside and remain available for an attack. At middle, she has to recognize the setter’s release and get into position quickly enough to close the net. Bremen’s run to the Class A/AA championship match gives her valuable experience in a high-pressure environment. Continued refinement of her footwork and positional reads can help her become a more dependable two-way front-row player. ~ Samantha Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga
