About Addison

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would like to say I leave it all out there. I work hard and try to encourage my teammates. I make mistakes, but I look at every point as a chance to improve.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am pretty carefree and silly. I like to joke around and become close with my teammates. When on the court I like to be pushed. I want to be told what I am doing wrong so I can correct it. There is nothing better than a good volley.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a student council rep for the freshman class. It was voted on by my peers. I am a member of FCCLA as well as Ubly FFA. I have received awards in public speaking and parliamentary procedure for Ubly FFA. I am also a member of the Ivanhoe Crop Hoppers and have placed in showmanship and market showing steers at our County Fair.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being an Officer for FFA taught me how to lead and work well with a team. We were in charge of several projects within the school which required us to work as a team and be a leader. I have been selected to be team captain several times for my travel volleyball teams. I take this as a great honor as I love volleyball with all my heart.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Just this past year I was moved up as a freshman to play on our Varsity team. I would say I had a lot to prove. I knew that if I put my head down, worked hard and showed the team what I had, I could hopefully win them over. I feel like I was a valuable contribution to my team and I am so lucky to have been able to play with so many talented players.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love to play college volleyball for a D1, D2 or D3 school. Volleyball is my love and if I could be a part of a team at a great school while pursuing nursing, it would be a dream come true.
