About Ainsley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have a competitive drive and willingness to learn more. I focus my attention and energy on being intentional with each move I make on the court and giving my best at all times. I have an aggressive serve which puts pressure on our opponents. I have court awareness when setting; seeing and putting the ball in the best spot I can for my hitters. When hitting, I attack with confidence and power.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Volleyball is important to me. I enjoy the competition side of it, supporting my teammates, and being the best player that I can be during practices and matches. I am a good teammate who cheers others on, celebrates their successes, and takes responsibility in our setbacks. I respect my coaches, and love learning more from them to take me to the next level. I am proud to be a volleyball player!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have earned academic scholar and was on the National Junior Honor Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a freshman setter on the varsity high school team, I lead our DAC (Duneland Athletic Conference) in aces. My coaches believed me to be a leader on our team, and I also received the “Rookie of the Year” award. Internally, I feel I have gained confidence, display integrity and sportsmanship on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being a freshman setter on the varsity team proved to be a little challenging at times. I was also often used as a utility player; playing right side and back row at times. This affected some upperclassmen and some comments were made, but I understood their feelings and tried not to take it personally. I continued to focus on my play and stay out of it.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that seems like a good fit for me! Only being a freshman, I am not exactly sure, but I do know I’d like to have a supportive coach, dependable teammates, and it would be great to have some nice weather, too!

Miss Cline, although undersized, had great footwork and high hands (see the profile pic?) to remain both consistent and deceptive during our showcase. She might see a future as part of a 6-2 on a collegiate campus in a few years, but her three rotations will have VERY happy attackers. Consistency, accuracy and a go-go-go attitude within the 900 square feet, Ainsley was another gem from northern Indiana that will turn heads this club season.
