From tiny Evansville Christian, Ainsley is one of only a few underclassmen on this experienced roster, yet is among the leaders already in multiple categories for the Eagles this fall. Identified as a pin attacker, Ainsley is a solid left side attacker with a full arsenal of angles to choose from. She can hit a heavy ball, but prefers to hit smart shots that are more likely to score points immediately. She’s also learning to take chances when attacking, showing her development and future might be in overpowering her opponents with her size. At current, she’s a three-rotation attacker with some possibility of being a six-rotation outside, just as long as she can develop her serve receive skills.

Ainsley is a long and lean right side that can probably play either pin position at the next level. For now, the focus is on her arm swing and her ability to go up and over blocks regularly. Yes, the front three rotations are her focus, but for a kid playing up a couple of years on her club team, I like that she’s playing against bigger, stronger and faster kids and holding her own.
