About Alaina

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Growing up in a volleyball household, I have learned to love the sport at a young age. Ever since I was little, the first skill I learned was passing. I abide by the saying that nothing hits the floor and I’m committed to never give up on a play. My dream is to play at the next level in college and I work hard to meet that goal.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

With four years of volleyball experience, I thrive on the court as a defensive leader. As a student of the game, I look forward to every one-on-one and team training session and am constantly pushing myself to get better each day I train. Not only do I strive to get better each day, but to be the best teammate I can be. I am a vocal leader on the court and feed on the intensity of the match.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in a club called Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Calvary. I also run track and play beach volleyball at Calvary. I am an Honor Role student and was awarded Scholar Athlete at my high school as 1/13 freshmen in a class of 238.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have 54 hours of community service this year from volunteer work from my school and church.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My sister was born with special needs, so my family has had periodic challenges due to that. I’ve had to rely on my faith and have learned and grown strength from watching her overcome her challenges.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that not only pushes me athletically, but academically and aligns with my academic pursuits.
