Marrs was on the scene is Spokane at the Pacific Northwest qualifier, helping her team to a 2nd place finish in the USA Division. During her match up against Hawaiian Style 17 she took over the second set with kills from the seam, monster stuff blocks and some deft touches defensively to better the ball. The Oregon State commit changed the tone of that match with her length and activity, and ultimately finished off the three set win win another kill off a “31” in the seam. Marrs is now the #7 overall prospect in the 2025 rankings.

Another early verbal commit, Marrs will join her brother at Oregon State, 7 footer Gavin Marrs is a member of the incoming 2023 class on the hardwood for the Beavers. A middle with solid ball control skills and awesome length, Alana was able to consider both volleyball and basketball when making a college decision and decided volleyball in Corvallis was the route.

Marrs was a recent part of the Evergreen Region USA All-Star team that competed in Florida. Oregon State has an early verbal commitment from the long and talented 2025 middle from Ellensburg. The Beavers secured the dominant blocker. who will be headed to Corvallis after graduation in 2025. Marrs continues to refine her game and showed the ability to win 50/50 balls at the net in Ft. Lauderdale.

Oregon State secured a verbal commitment from Marrs recently, the 2025 prospect from Ellensburg will compete in the Pac 12 for the Beavs in Corvallis. As a player, she can pass, play either pin or the middle, and gives effort all times blocking or playing defense in the back row. It will be important for the 6″4 Marrs to but up a big block against the high level talent at the All-Star Championships, team defense and blocking should be a strength for the Evergreen team.

Marrs continue to grow her game, the Ellensburg 2025 prospect showed off her back row skills at Regionals in Spokane. With just eight players available the skilled sophomore handled business in serve receive, played strong defense, and put pressure on opposing backlines using a flat serve with some zip. Attacking from the outside pin in set two against RVC Kari, Marrs ended the set with a hard-angle drive that scored inside the 10-foot line. The CRU 16 Baden team will compete in the Open Division at Far Western, the team’s overall length can cause problems for hitters at any level.

Marrs has played the outside and right side, along with the middle, in previous seasons. The 6’4 Ellensburg prospect looked extremely comfortable patrolling the middle for her CRU 16 squad over the weekend against excellent competition. Always an excellent blocker with impressive length and extension over the net, Marrs is exploding offensively with added power as an attacker complimenting her always sound footwork.
