Alana Michaelis
About Alana
Expert Analysis
Mike Bryant | Prep Dig Scout
A 5’9 pin, Michaelis made some good gains in her experience and impact as she contributed well for Turpin during the high school season. Through 135 total kills, she averaged 1.6 k/s while also contributing in the first touch aspect for their passing game and defensively, which included 199 digs. She is part of Elevation 15 Ed this club season and should be a stabilizer in these areas for her team as she has good control of her arm in the air when she gets her feet to the ball.

Michaelis played at a high-tempo club team and it has carried over well to the varsity team for Turpin. Michaelis took a good amount of big cuts from the outside. However, she also made a huge difference with her serving. She fooled the experienced Milford back court a couple times landing balls near the lines for huge aces. Michaelis can hit balls off blocks and take various cuts to make opponents defend various parts of the court as opposed to being able to focus on one specific area. Michaelis said keeping Milford out of system was key because the Eagles are a strong passing team.

Michaelis could be one to watch at Turpin over the next four years at both defensive specialist and outside hitter. She’s a good all-around player. Michaelis hustles hard after balls and sends strong serves to different parts of the court. She sent one to the right corner in the loss to KIVA 14 Red. Michaelis also does a good job putting power into balls. She had a sound line hit in that same game.
