Alana, a 5’8” setter, is a true all-around player who can do it all. She consistently gets her feet set and delivers clean jump sets that keep her hitters in rhythm. On top of her setting, she reads hitters extremely well and plays strong defense, which is always a standout quality in a setter. She also shows her versatility at the net, proving she can get up on the right side and score as a smart, crafty hitter with well-placed tips and shots. She is finishing in her senior year, and someone to keep an eye on as a college recruit.

Alana is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays volleyball at Medina Valley High School and plays club for the South Texas Volleyball Academy program.  Miss Smith wowed her court coaches with some consistent and strong delivery of the ball.  Although only standing at five foot eight, this young lady is a fierce competitor who is not afraid to use her long arms and athletic vertical to block at the net if need be.  You can tell by the way that she moves on the court that she is capable of playing all the way around at a great level.  What I love about her setting is how she uses her entire arms to push the ball far during out of system plays.  Her signature release while setting makes it look like she is flying through the air like superwoman.  The ball comes flying out of her hands quickly and very accurately.  We think that she has a lot of potential to keep getting better from what we see.  We plan to keep our eye on her to see her progress this club season.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at the Expo.
