From Holley- “Lani does everything from hammering balls on the outside, hiding tips until the last second better than almost anyone I’ve seen, picking up all sorts of stuff in defense, and making lots of hustle plays. Lani’s someone who is always laughing and hyping people up, and I love the energy that she brings to our team.”

The powerful attacker brought the heat all weekend and has one of the strongest arm swings in her class. She is skilled overall, and more than just a one-dimensional attacker. Taliloa can move the ball around and find seams in the block and puts in great effort defensively. Her NPJ Seattle team battled through several 3-set battles, and Taliloa played gritty and tough the entire weekend.

Taliloa is the go-to attacker when the game is on the line for NPJ. She is demanding the ball this season and delivering when she gets it. For such a power player, her off-speed shots, hands, and defense are all on point. Taliloa is playing the middle back extremely well, and being available for crushing swings from the pipe is a huge part of the NPJ attack. She is a terminal hitter who can close the game out when it’s on the line.

If the topic is power pins in the class of 2025, the NPJ Seattle National outside is one of the first and best to make an impression. Against a fellow NPJ squad from Salem, she showed off her defensive game on defense and serve receive from middle back, where she used her quick reactions and good hands to save points and set a second ball when she needed to. The hard angle hammer is what brought oohs and ahhs from the courtside crowd, and against a good blocking NPJ Salem team, she found points with a soft roll over the top. This power pin just keeps rolling!

Taliloa has the heaviest swing in the class, and one of the better hammers in the state. It shows in not just the over 400 total kills, but a .341 hitting percentage as well. When she lets it go, the ball does not get played up by the defense. Taliloa made big strides all around this year, with her dig and serve receive totals jumping up with increased defensive responsibilities.
