This is a name I was shocked to see on the Shockwave 16-1 roster. Wesier drives all the way from Oakley to play on the Wichita-area team. Her story is further evidence of the growth of club sports and the dedication and sacrifices made by club athletes and parents. Her sophomore season stat line included the following large numbers: 371 kills, 306 assists, 243 digs, and 65 aces. I have not seen Wesier compete, but she is set to debut in the 2028 rankings in January. Shockwave 16-1 will compete in Pool B and open its tournament against Pohaku 16-1 at 8:50 a.m. As of right now, that is the match I plan to scout in that time slot; however, as club parents are well aware, that schedule can get off kilter fairly quickly.
