Alexis is a defensive machine on the front row, putting up a huge block in the middle. Her impressive wingspan allows her to cover a substantial area at the net. During her club season, she demonstrated notable versatility by also contributing defensively in the back row, a rarity for most middle blockers. Her well-rounded abilities are especially remarkable given her height. Having been a key contributor last season, she’s poised to bring that same energy and skill into her sophomore year at Galena High School.

Something I wish I would’ve done coming into freshman year is always getting touches. Whether it’s finding a gym to practice skills in or just peppering with a family member, every touch makes you better. I barely touched a ball the whole summer leading up to freshman year and it set me back. Coaches look at how you interact with your teammates. Always be communicating with, encouraging, and supporting your teammates and I promise it’ll pay off. Your attitude outshines your skill level ALWAYS.

Alexis is a great middle blocker that remains aggressive along the net all game long. Offensively, she has a quick arm swing and nice vertical that allows her to consistently beat blocks or hit right through them. Defensively, she is good at reading hitters and moving to an ideal blocking position, often preventing opponents from scoring.  A lot of middles do not get the opportunity to serve or play back row, but Kirk is different. She gets the opportunity to serve up a few aces and stay in to play left back row defense. This incoming sophomore is on the rise as a top prospect and I look forward to catching her in action during the school season.
