About Alexis

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a strong utility player. DS/OH are my primary positions, but I have experience with all positions and can step in wherever my coaches need me. I consider myself a versatile player and I have a really strong ability to hustle and cover the court. I don't let my height get in the way. I continue to strive to improve my verticle, however I also adapt by looking for the right holes in game play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an analytical player. I can read the ball and the court really well to anticipate a play and respond accordingly. I am highly energetic and I love to encourage my teammates.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved with my church, Life Church East Bay, and have previously been a volunteer of the childrens ministry. I am involved with multiple clubs at my school. I'm also on my high school's varsity wrestling team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I had been involved with the childrens ministry at my church since the 6th grade. This has given me the skill and love of working with young children. It also has given me leadership skills that has translated to a love of coaching volleyball for young kids. I was coaching three different camps at my prevous club over the summer of 2024.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have mild ADHD. Sports have really helped me to manage this. It has been a challenge for me transitioning from a small private school during elementary through middle school, to a large public school for high school, being able to get a lot of one-on-one attention from my teachers, to an environment where this is a lot harder to get that kind of help. I am continuosly adapting my learning.

What type of college are you looking for?

My goal is to become an orthodontist. I would like to attend a college that has a vibrant community but also one that has academic support available for student atheletes.
