About Aliva

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would best describe my game style as defensive with fast footwork, huge blocks, quick attacks, and great IQ on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe myself as a person with a strong mindset, competitive, hardworking, with a sense of humor that keeps me balanced. I believe building a good relationship with my teammates and coaches provides the support and trust needed to be successful in our game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a SOECA 3-time recipient of the Bishop Bronner Award for my academics and leadership, 2-time recipient for best speaker of the Young Litigator’s and the Walker Debate Team, member of the Beta Club, and was awarded outstanding performance in Math, Computer Science, English, and Physical Education.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Some skills that have been developed over the years are communication, leadership, sportsmanship, and self-motivation that led me to become the captain of my 141E club volleyball team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The greatest challenge was playing JV volleyball as an 8th grader. This challenge provided the ability to play at a faster paced game, learning rotations, and increase my volleyball IQ. Although there were high expectations from my coaches it definitely helped me earn a position on the Varsity team the following year.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school with a great academic and sports program that will allow me to obtain my degree and to play competitively at a national level.
