She has been one of Coahulla Creek’s primary offensive options throughout the season, and her role becomes particularly important when the team needs a reliable point scorer during a difficult stretch.

The Colts’ semifinal comeback against Union County gives Alyce valuable experience in a match where the momentum changed dramatically. For an outside hitter, those situations require more than swinging aggressively. She must recognize when the block is taking away her preferred angle, when a high-hands swing is available and when a controlled shot can keep the offense in a favorable position. Alyce’s early numbers are about efficiency as much as volume. Through 17 reported sets in Region 7-3A, she has produced 93 kills at 5.5 kills per set, while MaxPreps currently lists her among Georgia’s statewide leaders in hitting percentage.

Efficiency at that level usually begins before the ball ever reaches the hitter. Approach discipline, early recognition of the block and the ability to choose the correct shot are what allow a pin to score without turning every attack into an all-or-nothing swing. Alyce has already shown over previous seasons that she can contribute in serve receive, defense, serving and blocking in addition to carrying a major attacking load.
