About Amayiah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’d describe my gameplay style as unique and high-energy. I’m loud and vocal while staying focused and locked into the game. I look to be a game changer by shifting momentum with hustle and effort, encourage my teammates no matter the score, and go after every ball without giving up on a play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe there’s always something new to learn in volleyball, and I view failure as an opportunity to grow. I have a growth mindset and stay intentional in everything I do, whether that’s journaling, studying the game, or getting extra reps in. I’m always looking for ways to improve and become better than I was yesterday.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in my school’s Mission Club, where I’ve had the opportunity to serve and give back. I was also selected to participate in Academic Olympics, and I’ve earned Honor Roll recognition for my academic performance.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through volleyball. I lead by example with my energy and effort, communicate clearly, and always support and encourage my teammates. I’ve also learned accountability, discipline, and how to put the team’s goals first.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that combines strong academics with a competitive sports program, where I can continue to challenge myself both in the classroom and on the court.
