About Amelia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love a well connected team, so my gameplay is associated on keeping the team on track to success. I love taking up space in serve receive and keeping a calm presence on the court. Before the play, I like updating my hitters on the setters spot on the court, how many front row hitters, and what is open when they are swinging. As for defense, I focus on getting every ball up.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Volleyball is partly mental, so I choose to focus on confidence. My confidence comes in Christ, and this makes me unstoppable. I am able to believe in myself and my abilities when stepping on the court. Personality wise, I am very extroverted and love meeting people. I love laughing with my teammates and friends daily and creating so any fun memories with them.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

A Honor roll throughout middle school 8th Grade Presidential Award Outstanding Student Award BETA club member 2025 Best Buddies Officer HOSA member and competitor

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Just recently I have taken on the roll of being a Best Buddies Officer for Page High School. This has let me develop in a leadership roll, learning patience and organizational tools that will help me in the future. Moreover, I have been in the Cancer Kids First Community Service Organization which has shown me different lives of so many people and helped me become more interpersonally skilled.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This summer I experienced tearing my hamstring, which interrupted my volleyball career. The hardest part about this injury was that it felt fine at home, but awful on the court. This made me question my next steps in volleyball and doubt a big part of my life. Overall this journey has taught me volleyball is something I do not who I am and grew my confidence in the sport.
