About Aniah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Great energy, dynamic movements, and a quick arm swing. I have the speed to make quick adjustments and close blocks, as well as the athleticism to use the entire court with my hits and keep the blockers guessing.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am genuinely a quiet person but Volleyball has been a good outlet for me to grow and let my personality shine. I am able to bring high energy to my teammates and also be a grounding base for them when the game drifts away from us. I would describe myself as a quiet leader with big impact.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am highly involved with my church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed into a quiet leader and someone my friends and teammates look to for stability and support. I am a youth leader in my church and assist with Children’s Church, Nursery, and VBS.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My middle school years, I had a lot of anxiety. My family noticed me becoming more introverted and not as involved. My mom helped me to use my words and express what was going on and we were able to work through it. I started volleyball and the next year, my 8th grade year, I moved schools. I was able to connect with kids I would be going to high school with and I started opening back up.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to attend a college that has my major. I love photography and want to continue my education with a Fine Arts and Business degree. I am also looking for a connection. A connection with a coach that sees my strengths and is ready to push me even further. As well as a connection with my teammates to create meaningful memories on and off the court.

Aniah Brown made a clear statement this season as a dominant middle presence for Verrado High School, showcasing her ability to impact the match on both sides of the ball. She closed the year with 83 total blocks, ranking among the state’s best, while also finishing 12th overall in hitting percentage at an impressive .356. Offensively, she added 304 kills on the season, highlighting her consistency, efficiency, and reliability as a primary option in the middle.

A high-IQ middle, Aniah understands the game at an advanced level and plays with purpose on every rally. Offensively, she makes smart, disciplined decisions, staying composed and effective even in transition. Defensively, she anchors the block with strong timing and positioning, reading hitters well and closing seams in crucial moments. Her communication and court awareness elevate those around her, helping keep her team organized and confident at the net.

As she heads into club season with AZ Outlaws 17, we’re excited to watch Aniah continue to build on her momentum. With her two-way impact, volleyball IQ, and competitive edge, she’s poised to remain a difference maker throughout the season and continue proving why she’s one of the top middles in her class.
