About Annalise

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very hard worker, and when I am in a rough situation while playing, I keep that in mind. No matter what is happening while I am playing, I rely back on my previous trainings; even back to the basics.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the court, I am a very energetic, determined player. I help push my team to their full-potential, while also focusing on my playing. Although my mentality is to be focused on winning, I also just think about trying my hardest, and having fun with the others around me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I received multiple honors awards for academics, and I recently just received an award for Algebra II.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

A skill I have developed is having the ability to persevere. Every time I’m on the court, I know I will have competition, but that is what makes it so exciting. I get to push myself each step of the way during the game. I am also a very good leader. I help my team out when they are not in the best mindset, or are not competing as they hope they would. Winning is not always #1; but teammates are.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge that had occurred in my life was moving states. When I was younger, it was always a passion of mine to play volleyball. But when I moved from Chicago to Cincinnati, I had trouble trying to find “the right club”. This was a challenge that didn’t stick around for a small time. Seasons and seasons went by, hard work and time, now I am trying to be the best version of myself.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that not only has a good coaching staff, but also great academic program. I am looking for a college that has a walkable campus, with nice scenery, while also having a great volleyball team culture.
