About Ashley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is energetic, smart, and team-focused. I’m always communicating on the court, staying locked in, and doing whatever it takes to help my team succeed. I pride myself on my hustle, quick decision-making, and ability to read the game as it’s unfolding. As a leader, I lead by example—bringing intensity, consistency, and a competitive mindset every time I step on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is driven, focused, and positive. I take pride in staying composed under pressure and always pushing myself to improve. I’m confident but coachable, and I welcome feedback because I want to grow. Whether I’m leading a team or supporting others, I stay humble, encourage those around me, and bring a strong work ethic to everything I do.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m a member of the National Junior Honor Society and the Emerging Young Leaders (EYL), which focuses on leadership, education, and community service. I also belong to True Destiny Faith Center, where I stay active in youth activities. Academically, I’ve been recognized for my achievements with various honors, including maintaining a high GPA and receiving awards for character and leadership.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership skills through motivating others, staying composed under pressure, and leading by example. Teamwork is a big part of who I am. I know how to listen, communicate, and support my teammates both on and off the court. I’ve also gained a heart for community service through my involvement with Emerging Young Leaders and my church.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being a military child and moving many times has definitely been a big challenge. Constantly starting over, new schools, new teams, and new environments but taught me how to adapt quickly, stay resilient, and connect with people from all walks of life. At times it was tough to leave friends and familiar places behind, but each move helped shape me into someone who’s strong under pressure.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that challenges me both academically and athletically. I want to be part of a competitive volleyball program where I can grow as a player and contribute to a team that values hard work, discipline, and strong team chemistry. Academically, I’m interested in a school with a strong science or health program, since I plan to study psychiatry or a related field.
