Ashlyn is expanding how she scores by adding variation and forcing defenders to adjust.

That willingness to change speeds and use different options allows her to stay effective when the block and defense take away her first look.

Her growth also shows in how she communicates and lifts her team.

Off the court, she emphasizes accountability and self-awareness, holding herself responsible for her role in every play.

Her path includes Summer Soirée and an additional championship tournament, where her ability to vary her scoring will continue to evolve.

Young evaluated her weekend through the lens of effort and persistence, noting that she consistently pursued every ball and stayed committed to finishing plays. She was proud of her ability to transition off the net efficiently, move her feet to the ball, and remain an active listener on the court, all habits that helped her stay engaged throughout matches. As she continues to develop, Young is focused on improving her attacking mechanics by opening up and getting on top of the ball more consistently. Off the court, she recently completed her first semester of high school, a milestone she was proud to share.

Ashlyn Young Ashlyn Young 5'11" | MB CA named MVP at PrepDig’s Exposure Tour in Gardena, CA.

Ashlyn set the tone with her voice, her hustle, and her ability to finish plays. She was one of the most vocal leaders on the court and responded positively to mistakes, immediately resetting and pushing forward. Ashlyn consistently put balls away and outworked everyone around her, bringing urgency and intensity to every rep.

Ashlyn shared that blocking is her strongest skill, built through years of focused training. She is currently working to improve her passing, putting in extra reps on her own and with trainers. Her goals this club season include developing her leadership, staying calm in stressful moments, and remaining composed in serve receive. Her coachability and joyful personality were evident throughout the session, making her a natural leader and the clear MVP of this court.
