Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
On the court as a player, I am gritty and physical, trying my best to get in the way of tough hitters and laying out for balls. Communication is very important to me because it not only works connections on the team, but also can help terminate the play. Telling my outside where to swing and how many people are blocking her, or even just calling the ball in serve receive is a way of teamwork.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a passionate, dedicated, competitive, coachable, and determined to win. I pride myself with the ability to lift others up and encourage my teammates with high energy and a leadership attitude. Goals are very important to me, as they set standards and motivate me to best at all times, no matter the circumstance.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Outside of volleyball, I am apart of a club called DECA. It is focused on business and entrepreneurship. This year my team and I ran in the Community Awareness campaign and got metals at Internationals for the Top 20 projects in the nation for that event. I am also apart of a club lacrosse team named Black Lax 2026 Nationals.I am happy to be able to gain higher level experience from that as well.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Teamwork has been a huge part of volleyball for me as I moved from JV to Varsity my sophomore year. Not only does working harder at a higher level demand you to trust your teammates, it also shows you how everyone has their role on the team. Nobody plays independently and we are constantly training for a better outcome as a team.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I decided I wanted to play volleyball, it was my U14 year. Walking into club tryouts as someone with a low IQ on how the game works, it was very hard to catch up or understand drills. Later that night I got the call for an offer to play on the U14 nationals team. Since I accepted, I went to personal training everyday, and learned as much as I could because I wanted to be apart of the game.
What type of college are you looking for?
What I look for in a college are programs that stand out and offer amazing education. I look for opportunities like a nursing or business school, for my life after college. I look for a college that feels like home, with a beautiful campus and welcoming people. I hope to find a school with a volleyball or lacrosse program where the team feels like family and everyone looks out for one another.
