About Ava

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with speed, power, and purpose. As a middle blocker, I focus on beating my opponent to the ball and being a strong presence at the net. I’m always looking for ways to play smart by reading the court, communicating with my teammates, and attacking open or weak areas. I compete hard and always bring energy.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Off the court, I’m fun and easygoing, and I enjoy building strong connections with my teammates. On the court, I’m focused, competitive, and driven to win. As a middle blocker, I know leadership starts with communication and energy at the net. I stay locked in, lead by example, and bring both intensity and positivity to help my team succeed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the Spanish Honor Society and consistently earn Honor Roll recognition. I also participate in RAKS (Random Acts of Kindness Club), where we focus on promoting positivity and supporting others in our school community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing volleyball and lacrosse while maintaining strong academics has helped me develop leadership, discipline, and accountability. As a middle blocker, I communicate constantly, read the court quickly, and make decisions that impact the team. Balancing two sports and school has strengthened my time management, coachability, and mental toughness. I strive to lead by example on the court & School.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One significant challenge I’ve faced is balancing volleyball, lacrosse, and academics at the same time. Managing practices, games, and schoolwork has required strong time management and discipline. It has pushed me to stay organized, mentally tough, and focused on my goals. Learning how to handle a full schedule has helped me grow as both an athlete and a student.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can compete at a high level and make an impact on the court. I want the opportunity to earn playing time, continue developing my skills, and contribute to a winning program. Strong academics are very important to me, and I’m seeking a supportive environment where coaches are invested in their athletes’ growth both on and off the court.
