How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My gameplay style is aggressive, smart, and tenacious. I refuse to let anybody beat me at the net and recognize it’s my responsibility to protect it! Leaving it all on the court is my priority and doing it with a smile is key.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My personality is outgoing and positive. I recognize that life is a journey and always doing the next right thing will always leave me in the place that gives me peace and joy. I also recognize that I will not always win or get what I want, but use those opportunities to learn something from it as well.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I volunteer at a local hospital in the NICU where I am honored to help babies in need. I also volunteer on mission trips and coffee shop at my local church. Giving back is a priority of mine wherever I can.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have read the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by: Sean Covey and have learned some good lessons from it that I am now applying. The one skill that I have learned from it is to “stop blaming others for failures”. It’s a leadership and teamwork skill that I feel is important to have if I want to continue to grow as a person. Taking ownership and responsibility for myself is key.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Most recently, the club that I was traveling on hit a big barrier. Legal action has been brought forth to our Director and the team seemed to be going divided. Significant changes to our rotation were made for GJNC 2024 and I seemed to have gone from playing 95% of the time to sitting on the sidelines 95%. Cheering my team on the sidelines was a part of a hard lesson learned but fulfilled.
What type of college are you looking for?
A college that has a Nursing program so I may fulfill my nursing path career. A college with a coach that takes the time to learn about his/her athletes often. Whether they be struggles, wins, or challenges. A college with a team that feels like a home away from home. A college that continues to challenge me as well.
