About Avani

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a scrappy yet rapid defensive player, always going for every ball, whether it’s right in front of me or all the way behind the chairs. I dedicate myself and my game to playing my position to the fullest level, and I work hard on and off the court to prove this. I work hard not only in my position but also in other positions that I specialize in, such as setter and OH.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a mentally strong person, always spreading positive energy to myself and my teammates, as it has never failed to help bring my team to success and enable me to perform to my fullest potential on the court. I believe in the mindset that a mistake only brings you one step closer to your success.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed various skills through my sport and life, such as understanding the meaning of hard work, determination, and grit. I also possess qualities such as strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and open-mindedness.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This year has been very tough for me, as many clubs have rejected me, and I thought it was the end of my volleyball journey. However, through luck, another girl's mom, who was also having trouble with club volleyball, started one, and it was truly a godsend. Now, even though things didn’t go my way, I am getting reps and having consistent film on hand to send to college coaches.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a welcoming environment where I can truly enjoy my volleyball and academic journey wholeheartedly.
