About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I bring energy and focus every time my foot hits the court. I am determined to stay mentally locked in, always reading the court to anticipate the next play. I take pride in being ready for every ball, whether that means attacking aggressively or stepping up defensively. My goal is to be a consistent, reliable player who is always ready to make the next play and help my team succeed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I approach the game with a "we over me" mentality, always putting the success of the team first. I strive to lead through positivity, consistency, and communication, maintaining an upbeat attitude that helps keep my teammates focused and motivated. I take pride in being a dependable player who contributes not only through performance, but also by strengthening the team's energy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am active in clubs and other sports. I participate in the Key Club and Art Club, as well as playing basketball and running track. I feel these opportunities allow me to grow as a leader and teammate. Being involved has helped me learn how to contribute to my school and community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being involved has helped me strengthen my communication, organization, and time-management skills while contributing to my school and community. I value opportunities that challenge me to make a positive impact and represent my team and myself with integrity.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the significant challenges I have faced is managing ADHD, which has required me to stay disciplined and proactive in how I learn and stay organized. With the support of my parents and school, I've developed strategies that help me stay on track. I work closely with a tutor and collaborate with trusted friends to strengthen my study habits. I turn this challenge into motivation.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am exploring opportunities at all types of colleges and universities. Important to me is valuing hard work, team culture, and academic support. My goal is to find a program where I can continue developing as a student-athlete, contribute to a positive team environment, and pursue my education. I'm excited to learn more about different schools.
