When it comes to volleyball there is an adage that says, “you can’t teach height.”  While not everyone is blessed to be born with taller genetics, Avery definitely has.  At this young age, she is already listed at six foot two.  A lot of younger taller players find it hard to move well until they get time and strength to acclimate their body.  Miss Merkle is a great combination of both size, speed and athleticism that translates very well to the volleyball court.  She has already made some headlines during last school season as she earned first team all district honors for her efforts and we think after a good club season, she is primed and ready for another solid run.  We are definitely going to be watching her closely at the showcase to report back on what we see with her skill set.  Stay tuned.
